The Back Seat Boys: Event Poster & Social Media Posts

Event Poster and Social Media Posts
Back Seat Boys Poster
For this prompt, our class required to create a poster with Social Media posts for an event that could be real or fictitious. I decided to create a prompt about a fake Christian band called “the Back Seat Boys,” a humorous rip-off of the famous “Back Street Boys.” Since I’m more experienced with darker colors and liked the Orange/Gray/Dark Gray/White color scheme, I decided this was the road I was going to go down. When it came to a picture, I create several concepts until I settled with the ribbon, further down the way, I realized that creating small rips in the fabric gave the whole project character and realism. When it came to the font on the ribbon, I wanted to provide it with a broad stroke rushed feeling. However, the rest of the type was clear and easy to read. Even though I was satisfied with my Ribbon concept, I kept feeling that something was missing at the bottom of it. So, I incorporated another idea into the poster and made the ribbon wrap around the new logo, which had a symbol making up the “B, S, B” in Back Seat Boys. Lastly, I wanted to give the entire poster a Smokey feeling, so I added in an effect that darkened the edges of the poster as if it was smoked by fire.
Social Media Posts
The Social Media post was created as if we were spreading the news of the fictitious event online; therefore, the three posts I created were "snippets" of the original poster. The first post was the band's logo, the second was more of an informative post, and the third was a post of the original post in a smaller size.
